Magpie Childcare began as a mother/daughter registered childminding team in November 2003. Sara's mum retired in December 2006 and now Sara has taken full responsibility for the operation of Magpie Childcare.

Sara Rattenbury

Sara is a mum with two children. It is in Sara's home that your children will be cared for and educated. Before registering as a childminder Sara worked as a medical laboratory scientific officer at Walsgrave Hospital. She left there when she had her first child and registered to become a childminder when a friend was at a loss to find child care for her son. It was the best career move she made!

Sara has worked as a registered childminder since 1998. She is registered for six children under 8 of which three may be under 5 (one under 1) .The registration also includes overnight care for two children. Sara is a member of the National Childminding Association (NCMA) and is also a member of the Children Come First Childminding Network in Warwickshire.

Sara is keen to promote 'best practice' throughout the childcare community and as such volunteers as a Support Childminder for the County Support Scheme, helping to support newly registered childminders to develop their businesses and preparing them for their first graded Ofsted inspection. She is also committed to continuing professional development.
